Welcome to The Hinrichsen Foundation's website

The Hinrichsen Foundation is a charity devoted to the promotion of music.

It was founded in 1976 by Mrs Carla Eddy Hinrichsen to ensure the continuation of the tradition established by the Hinrichsen family as the proprietors of Edition Peters the music publishers, established more than 200 years ago in the German city of Leipzig.

At the trustees meeting at the beginning of January 2012 the Foundation considered its financial position and prospects, which the Foundation believe to be positive. We are currently evaluating the role that the Foundation may play within the contemporary music environment, particularly against the current economic backdrop, and assessing where its support may be most effective. We are now accepting applications, albeit at a modest level: further announcements will be posted on the website.
