Welcome to The Hinrichsen Foundation's website

The Hinrichsen Foundation is a charity devoted to the promotion of music.

It was founded in 1976 by Mrs Carla Eddy Hinrichsen to ensure the continuation of the tradition established by the Hinrichsen family as the proprietors of Edition Peters the music publishers, established more than 200 years ago in the German city of Leipzig.

The Trustees have decided with much regret that the Foundation is deferring its grant-giving programme for the time being, largely as a result of the present uncertainty in world markets and the weakness of its investment currency. The Foundation's advisers will reappraise the situation in July 2010.
